Fall 2015

Yifan Gong attended the Annual meeting of the American Epilepsy Society (Philadelphia, PA, Dec. 4-8,2015), where he presented a poster titled “The effect of T-cell intracellular antigen-1 deletion on brain Cyclooxygenase-2 expression, acute seizure generation, and epileptogenesis..” (AES. Abstract #1.318).

Katherine Bunch and Gina Kim graduated in May 2015.

Spring 2014

Gina Kim received an undergraduate fellowship from the Department of Biology to perform research on her Honors Capstone project during summer, 2014.

Rosa Leon and Ayanna Pringle also graduated in May 2014 with BS Degrees in Biology and Degrees in the Neuroscience Interdisciplinary Learning Major Program.

Phillip completed his Distinction senior thesis in Biology and graduated in May 2014 with a BS Degree in Biology and a Degree in the Neuroscience Interdisciplinary Learning Major Program.

Phillip Groden coauthored an abstract with Yifan Gong and Miriam Gladstone that was accepted and presented as a poster at the 45th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Neurochemistry in Long Beach CA, March 8-12, 2014. The title of their Abstract and Poster was “Transgenic approaches to induce overexpression of cyclooxygenase-2 in discrete neuronal subpopulations of the brain.” (Am. Soc. Neurochem. Abstract #PS09).

Fall 2013

Yifan Gong was awarded a Graduate Student Travel Grant from the Department of Biology to attend the Annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (San Diego CA, Nov. 9-13, 2013), where he presented a poster titled “Developmental and NMDA receptor-dependent mechanisms contribute to changes in expression of prostaglandin E synthase isozymes in cultures of cortical neurons.” (Soc. Neurosci. Abstract #231.17).

Summer 2013

Phillip Groden received an undergraduate fellowship from the Department of Biology in 2013 to perform summer research on his Biology Distinction senior thesis project.
